Shevy Visits The Big Apple
Flying in from Florida to NYC, I was ready to trade sunshine for city lights and dive into everything the Big Apple had to offer. My journey started in the Flatiron District, where I stayed near the iconic Flatiron Building. After grabbing a coffee and soaking in the morning buzz of the neighborhood, I was off to explore.
First stop was Dumbo, Brooklyn—a must-see for those breathtaking views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. Standing by the waterfront, I felt like I’d walked into a postcard. The skyline, the bridges, and the overall vibe of the area were just magnetic. I spent way too much time taking photos, but honestly, how could I not?
Next, I ventured to Midtown, where the skyscrapers on Billionaires’ Row were jaw-dropping. Seeing them up close, with the sun reflecting off their glass, was mesmerizing. From there, it was on to Hudson Yards to marvel at the Vessel. It’s one of those spots where modern design and NYC energy collide perfectly. And, of course, the Empire State Building made its appearance—timeless, iconic, and just as grand as you’d imagine.
Later that afternoon, it was time to celebrate my daughter’s birthday at the Museum of Ice Cream. This place was pure magic! Sliding down colorful slides, jumping into the sprinkle pool, and sampling unique ice cream flavors were just as fun for me as they were for her. Seeing her face light up made the whole day worth it.
The evening ended at the Brooklyn Paramount Theater for the Wave to Earth concert. Their dreamy indie vibe filled the space, and the crowd’s energy was contagious. It was the perfect way to wrap up a packed day.
The next day brought a new vibe in the Meatpacking District, a chic neighborhood full of character. While strolling through, I stopped at the Rolex store to show off my unique timepiece necklace—let’s just say it turned a few heads! While I was creating content, I had an unexpected encounter with Roberto Monticello, the award-winning filmmaker also known as “The Mayor of the Meatpacking District.” He was so charismatic and full of stories.
The night ended perfectly with cocktails at Meduza Mediterrania and dinner at TAO. The ambiance, the flavors, and the whole experience were a vibe in themselves.
From Dumbo’s bridges to Midtown’s skyscrapers, ice cream celebrations, and chance connections in the Meatpacking District, this NYC trip was everything I could’ve dreamed of—and more. Until next time, New York!
